A White tea shot is a refreshing, delicious shot for those who want to have a taste of alcohol but also don’t want to get drunk. It is mostly famous among ladies because it is low in calories and alcohol as compared to other alcoholic tea-shot drinks.

What is a White Tea Shot?

A White Tea cocktail is an alcoholic beverage that gives you a refreshing taste. This shot is quite similar to Green Tea Shot as there is a little change in its ingredients. In a Classic Green Tea Shot, we mostly use Jameson Irish Whiskey as its primary ingredient, but in a White Tea Shot, we use Vodka preferably. There are mainly three recipes for this shot which we can make by using Tequila, Rum, and Vodka sequentially.

Is there any White Tea in the White tea shot?

Well if you’re looking for an alcoholic drink then it is good for you to listen that the Shot does not contain any White tea bags. But if you want to get the antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals; there are also some recipes for White tea which contain White tea bags, lemon juice, ginger, mint leaves, and honey.

Why Do We Call it White Tea Shot?

As I mentioned above that this beverage does not contain any kind of tea; it is obvious that people will get confused about its name. It is for your information that this tea shot was not the first tea shot to be made. Actually, it is an alternative to the Classic Green Tea Shot, so the name of this shot is also based on the idea of Green tea shot. The name comes from its pale( white) color, so we call it White tea Shot.

Comparison Between White Tea Shot and Green Tea Shot

As we know that the white shot is actually an alternative to the Green tea Shot; the major difference between these two beverages is their main ingredient – Alcohol. In Green Tea Shot; we use whiskey, preferably Jameson Irish Whiskey but in White tea cocktail, we use Vodka as the source of alcohol. If you tried the Classic Green tea Shot before, it will be a new refreshing experience for you to taste the White Shot.

Mixing Tool You’ll Need

To make a perfect White tea shot, you’ll need these pieces of equipment for sure along with the ingredients. The main mixing tools are the following:

1.  Shot Glasses:- The first and most important utensil for a shot is shot glass. To enjoy the shot, all you need is a shot glass. The size of a shot glass is not determined but it depends upon you, and how much drink you want in a shot.
2.  Cocktail Shaker:– You can enjoy your shot only when it’s mixed perfectly. A Cocktail Shaker is the most used equipment all over the world to mix all the ingredients of a shot by just shaking the beverage.
3. Strainer:- Strainer is the equipment used to prevent lemon seeds and pulp from falling into the drink.

Main Ingredients

1.  1- ounce Vodka
2.  1 ounce Peach Schnapps
3.  1/2 ounce Fresh Lemon Juice
4.  1/2 ounce Simple Syrup ( Sugar Syrup)
5.  A Few Ice Cubes

Instead of using lemon juice and simple syrup separately, you can use Sweet and Sour mix for a great taste. Most of the stores keep Sour mix but if you can’t find Sour mix near your residence; you can make your own. To make the sour mix at home, you can see my Green Tea Shot recipe.

Process of Making

Usually, it takes time no more than 2-3 minutes if you have all the ingredients and essential utensils. We can divide the making process into a few simple steps. The steps are following:

Step – 1

 Put 1 ounce (30 ml) of vodka, 1 ounce (30 ml) of peach schnapps, 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of lemon juice, 1/2 ounce (15 ml) of simple syrup, and ice cubes in a Cocktail Shaker.

Step – 2

 Mix all the ingredients by shaking for 10-15 seconds.

Step – 3

 Use a strainer to pour the shot into shot glasses. Enjoy!

Variations of This Shot

There are mainly two varieties of this shot. The standard white tea shooter contains Vodka as alcohol. You can use Tequila and Rum to make different shots.

The making process and mixing tools for making these two shots are similar to the regular shot, made with Vodka. The ingredients are also the same except for the alcohol i.e. Tequila and Rum.
